NOT ALL DARK CHOCOLATE IS THE SAME…

Tcho Organic Chocolate is unique; consider the way coffee beans are roasted to create different blends or Wine grapes after Harvest, Tcho Organic Chocolate takes the Cacao bean and roasts them into unique dark richness, creating healthy flavors such as Citrus, Nutty, Dark and Fruity. The chocolate does not contain fruit or nuts, only the essence they have derived from roasting the Cacao beans. The variety includes Roasted Cacao Nibs, “Citrus” Madagascar, terrific for cooking.

I have been making chocolate for the past year and when I came to Tcho, there was no looking back. A unique and healthy choice of culinary deliciousness that benefits you with each bite you take.

The cacao plant, to be more precise contains cell-protective photochemical, more commonly referred to as “antioxidants.” Researchers have discovered that a standard dark chocolate candy bar contains about twice as much antioxidants as a glass of red wine. (LiveStrong.com)

Chocolate contains large amounts of antioxidants that protect the heart, lower blood pressure, improve cognition, and are an anti-inflammatory that effect mood elevation. Phytochemicals in chocolate may also prevent cancer. Now, take a bite!

This entry is short and sweet… As I head out to the beach, I am sharing with you a new Sunscreen that I am using which is Chemical-free. Who knows what is in the water these days, so this Sun Shield as they call it, protects not only your face and body, but does not contaminate the Ocean.

MYCHELLE Dermaceuticals is non-irrtating, and has a creamy texture when applying to ones skin. The Sunblock is Zinclear, for all skin types, non toxic and Reef safe.

They have a complete line which I will provide more detail on at a later time, as well as an array of different paraben free sunblock choices. I like MYCHELLE because it not only protects my skin, but still allows me a bit of color without any redness or burn.

So as you head out into the Sunshine, please cover up and check the labels so that you are free of  toxins while celebrating our Independence Day!

MYCHELLE Sun Shield is SPF 28, a full spectrum sun block and organic aloe that preserves skins moisture but does not clog your pores or sting eyes.

What are you major skin concerns? Share them with me and I will provide you natural alternatives to enhance your skin and treat it well for thelong term results.

Have a fantastic holiday and a chemical free Summer!

BARE NATURALLY!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for checking in! I’m sorry for not having new posts for the past week but I was out with the flu. Who heard of such a thing in the Summer?

I have something great for women especially in the summer, it is completely natural and most likely you have it in your home! If you want your legs, elbows, feet, etc., to be as soft as a bare baby’s bottom… this is the way to do it, naturally.

Ingredients:

SEA SALT, JOJOBA OIL, or Grape Seed, Vitamin E…

READ THE LABEL! Sometimes an Oil will say it is something but the ingredients show other additives. Just make sure it is pure and Paraben free.

Mix 3 part oil to one part Sea Salt and swirl together, then put it on your body as you would a purchased salt or sugar scrub. This feels better,  it is A LOT less money, and so simple, plus the outcome of  bare baby bottom soft skin! Yes, soft elbows.

If you live in Los Angeles, a store in Beverly Hills on South Beverly Drive recently opened called SASSY. The owner is great and she features mostly Paraben free beauty products and skin and hair products  for both men and women.  She has a large variety so make sure and ask for the Paraben free products. She does free Make-up applications.

Please let me know what you think.

Shortly we will be featuring women and men just like you and me for make on’s. A refreshing look at  individuals beauty with Paraben free cosmetics and products. For Men we will be doing skin and hair. There will be  before and after photos. We will NOT be doing the before frown after smile… This blog is real, so the results will be too.

Don’t forget to chime in. Requests regarding product information, questions, comments… I look forward to it.

Smile is not about just white Teeth anymore…

TOOTH NOTE – I like clean teeth, those with a glimmer of white, but not with a reflection.  Teeth that look like a Snow Storm in the Twin Cities, is not the twinkle I think the Tooth Fairy was going for.  What do you think? How is your flossing going? I have my good days and days that need to be better. I know, how could I?! What do you think about the bright whites? Too bright?

SMILE…  Yes , it includes toothpaste! Believe it or not the outside package states not to swallow when brushing ones teeth. Those fizzy, Willy Wonka bubbles, who coud resist? Especially if you are five?  The more bubble the more to banish. If you have no clue what the product is, stay away from it! If the list is longer than your (five-year olds) arm, another good clue to avoid it.

Natural, Pure, Quality does not have to mean expensive.  I use All Natural, No Fluoride, Antiplaque Toothpaste with Fennel, Propolis & Myrrh. I buy it at Trader Joe’s. It has a clean, fresh taste  and no left over feel! AHA.  For those without Trader Joe’s, I have tried and liked Jason’s Toothpaste. It can be found at Whole Foods.  I am not a fan of  Tom’s of Maine products. This is my  personal, researched and very wise opinion.  Please check it out, remember, I’m on your side!

BEAUTY TO LAST A LIFETIME!

April 11, 2010 by parabenfree 1 Votes

DID YOU KNOW? The underbelly of Parabens…
60% of products such as lotions, shampoos, lipsticks, powders, deodrant, shaving creme… are absorbed into your body and mimic your body’s hormones.

Natural does not always mean naturally good for you! Yesterday I was at the grocery store. I saw what is considered a natural sunscreen. Alba Botancia states that is is a chemical free sunscreen, noting on the front of the bottle, that it contains not harmful chemicals. Although their intentions may be good, their product label is misleading. Alba Botanica sunscreen lotions contain Titanium dioxide.  What is Titanium Dioxide?

Titanium dioxide is a white powder like mineral. Chemically processed, it provides a pure white pigment that is odorless and absorbent.  Additional to sunscreen and deodrant, TD can be found in food, cosmetics, vitamins and paint!

There are mixed views regarding Titanium Dioxide.  The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently classified Titanium dioxide as an IARC Group 2B carcinogen ”possibly carcinogen to humans”… This evidence showed that high concentrations of pigment-grade (powdered) and ultrafine titanium dioxide dust caused respiratory tract cancer in rats exposed by inhalation and intratracheal instillation*.  (Naturalnews.com)\

THE FACTS: Natural does not always mean it is good for you. Check your labels and decide for yourself.

As far as sunscreen’s go, The Environmental Working Group has identified the following ingredients are harmful to human health. Octocrylene. PABA, Octyl-methoxycinnamate (OMC), Benzophenone-3, 4-methyl-benzylidene and camphor (4-MBC). Homosalate

Women – Deodrant: I have looked LONG & LONGER to find a deodrant that had a pleasant smelled, WORKED, and was pure of toxins. The deodrant I use is HUGO NATURALS, Dual-action Formula – Sea Fennel & Passionflower. Purchased at Whole Foods.

This blog will be filled with new information about paraben free, natural, organic products, events, beauty, fashion, green style, food, wine, health…  AND YOU!  Stay Tuned & Definitely Chime In!
