I have shared with you the importance of using Paraben free toothpaste; now it is about more than chemical free toothpaste… Oh no, and oh yes!
Steady Health stated, “As your mouth has contact with numerous types of bacteria, it can develop into a breeding ground for all sorts of nasty germs.” If you take Probiotic’s this is still important information, and if you don’t, please let me know, as I will be writing accurate information about why it is so valuable to take them and including a list of quality products. Now back to your mouth…
I have done research on dental plaque and how much serious damage it can have on ones body. Several studies have found that Heart disease risk and inflammatory disease are linked due to the neglect of oral hygiene. In addition, the concern is more than a cavity or two. Dr. Kowolik said that if you get a bacterial infection anywhere in the body, billions of neutrophils come flooding out of your bone marrow to defend against the intruder; the inflammatory response to dental plaque could help us identify individuals who are at greater risk for infections anywhere in the body. This is including those affecting the heart, he said. Without good dental health, our bodies are at risk for bacterial infection; this creates a disadvantage to our immune systems’ ability to fight off such infections.
It is so simple to get up and floss, brush our teeth and get regular cleanings, yet it continues to be an on-going hurdle… I speak for myself when I say I (too sadly) need the motivation after an exhausting day to be rigid with my dental health. The pillow calls my name louder than then floss does. Please heed this warning, though, and think not only of your gums, but your body. Getting infections from not brushing my teeth, enough is not a place I want to be! Heart Disease is the number one killer in women, so besides telling your kids to floss and brush, women please remember to take care of your fabulous selves!
Dental Care is expensive. However, did you know that many of the local colleges have excellent Dental schools and prices that are adjustable? UCLA, for example, has an excellent Dental school. Dr. Peter Moy, who is internationally known, is also an adjunct associate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the Division of Diagnostic & Surgical Sciences at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He also serves as the director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center and the Straumann Surgical Dental Clinic.
If you do not live in Los Angeles, please check out your cities Dental College for quality care and lower prices.
